SONGS OF THE SOLDIERS AND SAILORS. 25
25. INDIANA.
(G.)
I have always been a wand'rer,
Over land and sea, Yet a moon-beam on the water Casts a spell o'er me, A vision fair I see, Again I seem to be: Back home again in Indiana, And it seems that I can see The gleaming candle light still shining bright
Through the sycamores for me. The new-mown hay sends all its fragrance
From the fields I used to roam; When I dream about the moonlight on the Wabash, Then I long for my Indiana home.

26. WHEN JOHNNY COMES MARCHING HOME.
(G minor.)
When Johnny comes marching home again, hurrah,
hurrah! We'll give him a hearty welcome then, hurrah, hurrah! The men will cheer, and the boys will shout, And the ladies, they will all turn out, And we'll all feel gay, when Johnny comes marching home.
